We make everything in house using quality ingredients and take pride in our extensive menu. Where else but Bay City Burrito can Carnivores, Omnivores, Vegetarians and Vegans all sit harmonically at the same table and each be in their own culinary Special Place.

We keep it simple. Fresh Burritos, Tacos, Quesadillas, Nachos, and more in a casual environment complimented with a selection of San Francisco inspired Margaritas, Sangria and Mexican Beers.

Bay City Burrito Roots

You may know us as the guys who brought real burritos to Melbourne. But, our story is much more. Unknown to many, the Mission District is the spiritual birthplace of the burritos we serve. It all began in the 60s when San Francisco’s working class Latinos were feeling the pressure from the economic recession. The burritos were simple, portable and hunger satisfying: home made tortillas loaded up with beans, rice, spicy tomato based salsas, and what ever meat was in the pot that day.

Born and bred in San Francisco as a true local, The Mission District became my home as I fell in love with the authentic San Francisco Latino inspired atmosphere and competing burrito joints.

Now living in Melbourne with my own family, I couldn’t find the flavors and textures that I grew up with and had become so part of my being. Finally, tearing myself away from my comfortable corporate enclosure, I started Bay City Burrito.

In addition to burritos, our menu includes choices inspired by not only the Mission District, but other San Francisco neighborhoods too. One will also find traditional Mexican menu choices such as Tacos, Quesadillas, Soups, Salads and more.

Now In our tenth year in Melbourne, we still refer to our roots and feel that our Burritos are more then just comfort food. They’re Culture.
